I am no expert, but from what I have read because of my own problems with the same thing we are suppose to use lithium grease on grange doors... WD40 does sell it also in a spray can. I made the same mistake of using regular WD40 and it becomes a temporary fix only.

Use graphite dust. If the door will not stay open
slightly bend the top hinge pin. I own Shinaman Building
and Restoration Co. If you need any home improvement
projects completed I can be reached at 336-466-0210
Thank you

SPRAY SKIN SO SOFT, OR WD-40 ON HINGES, EVEN COOKING SPRAY WORKS

Use Household Paraffin wax, rub the pins with til coated, it will lubricate but the coating will help hold the door

take a hinge pin out and smack it with a hammer enough to slightly bend it,
put it back in that will keep it from swinging closed so easily

I had a door in my house that squeaked every time I opened it. So, I thought I'd spray it with some WD-40, since that fixes everything, right?

Well, the squeak is fixed, but now the door won't stay open! I open it, and it immediately starts to swing shut.

I know that the door is probably not exactly level or something, but it never did this until I sprayed the hinges. Is there something I can put on the hinges now that's going to be a little stiffer, so it won't swing shut?
