Best place to buy spices....Yadkin Valley General Store....at the end of main street in Elkin. Sold bulk style offers much cheaper prices.

I've bought fennell at Bare Essentials in Boone, tel. 828 262-5592. Located in the same shopping center as Goodwill

Go to Windors Country Store on Windsor Road.... They have all kinds of spices and herbs....

Whole Foods or Earth Fare (or whatever the one in Boone is called) will probably have it in their
fresh produce section. If not, you can probably find fennel seed at either of those locations, but
regular grocery stores do not usually have fennel. I grew some this past summer, but didn't really know what to do with it. Barefoot Contessa uses it a lot on her show.

Look in the organic fresh vegetables section of Lowes. If they don't have it in stock then ask when they will have it. If you are near any Harris-Teeter stores then you can usually pick it up there. Fennel is one of those things that you either like or don't like. Tastes like licorice to me but then again, I like licorice.
