The best indication of really good coaches are the coaches that can compete (and win games) with less talent! That of course was Beherens with the North boys this year. The North girls had a lot of talent this season. They have had a lot of talent for the past 5-6 years.

And by the way Fred, it sure looked like she could. Her first year of coaching, she didn't win a game. Looks like she couldn't outcoach anyone without much talent. And Bumb, to your point, North had two conference champs this year.. Boys and girls bball. And girls also won conference tourney. So you're wrong as well. You and Fred should get together.

Actually, Fred, I do have a clue. I know that happened for a fact. 100% for a fact. You can think or say whatever you want, but that's 100% truth.

Good job being sarcastic. Really helps out. I'm sure the practice plans were good. Someone else who knows the game made the plans, you coach the team during games and take the credit. Makes sense.

You also had the five best athletes in the conference on one team. When you first started coaching, you had to ask every coach in the school to do for practice plans. What happened the first year you were there? Why does nobody mention that? Also, you "resigned" because you knew you were about to get fired.. That sounds like a good coach to me

Yeah because 2 conference championships, 2 conference tournament championships and a final eight state finish was horrible. I'm glad they got a new coach. 🙄

He definitely better than what they use to have

26-3.Swept every team in the conference except one. Then soundly beat them in the conference tournament. Yes we lost to a team we should have beat. That happens even to the Dean Smiths and coach K's of basketball. Our coach has class,integrity,and knows what he is doing!We'll keep him!

We'll take our 26 -3 season. We have the right coach at North, maybe you're the one that doesn't know basketball.

First of all, you don't have a clue what you're talking about hawki. You're probably one of these fans who sit in the stands and think they can coach. The game comes easy in the stands. It's slower up there. You don't have to make decisions on the fly like a true coach does. I'd be willing to bet that you couldn't hardly recognize the difference in a 1-4 high set and a 5 out set, but for some reason, you think you can coach. Why don't you keep your comments in the stands and if you really are from West, like I assume you are, I would just keep my comments to myself about this basketball season. You shouldn't really have much to talk trash about

What experience aside from coaching your daughters pee wee basketball team do you have to criticize a coach? Do you want someone to come to your job and criticize you? No you don't.

if north wilkes girls had a good coach...they wouldve won tonight vs North Rowan!! very disappointing!! phillips needs to attend some coaching clinics in the off season.
