These days, desktops are built to be disposable. You can get a desktop for $300 that would run figurative circles around your 6 year old custom.
Bad news for the repair shops, but true.
The only reason to fix your old one is if you have irreplaceable software on it. But even then, you could daisy chain the old hard drive to the new PC and still save money.

6 years old? replace it.
Don't spend $1500 on a new one tho.

Ok, I have a custom built Dell Desktop It will be 6 years old this month. Well last year I had to put it in the shop for repairs , Nothing major it cost $75 to fix. Now it's acting up again, Should I just get a new PC or have it repair again? I am worried with the age it has on it that this will be routine thing of getting it repaired often. BTW I pai 1500.00 for it when I got it new, It was custom Built.
