Flash that Bios to the latest version baby. Be very careful. Please let Bennett do it for you. I don't offer this service cause if not done precisely correct it will turn your machine into nothing more than an eternal paperweight. Please I am begging you let the professionals handle this one. Although it is easy to do, one mistake and you have a paperweight.

Most Dells can't be cleared by any means other than replacing the motherboard. We used Dells at work and this feature is a big seller to business owners. If stolen they are of no use.

Don't forget most CMOS will have a pin jumper or dip switch reset too. If you just pull the battery it can take hours to clear, and even then it's not a guarantee.

also you may have to leave the cmos battery out for a while, or short the connections where the Battery connects, (old clear cmos procedure)

Anyone had any luck getting into a locked Bios on a Dell Inspiron 1545 ? Even went so far as to take the CMOS battery out and start the laptop (most times that will reset bios) NO luck same message. Dell wants $50 for a Master pswd . BS . Anyone?
