Windows based free ware works ok
TRK Linux boot disk
Get a program called Yumi
it creates usb boot distros there are a ton of distros that can be used to recover a disk

I have used r-studio with some success, it can recover files from damaged or corrupt partitions, deleted partitions, etc.

i got it out and had no luck. when pc reads drive it shows it to br in raw format instead of NTFS? how would you revover your info stored on drive?

You want to remove the torx screws an need the bit to do it?
I would call autozone
I got my bits from harbor freight

my drive crashed. was wanting to take it out of caddy and connect directly to desktop. i can'get apart due to 5 point torx security screws? any body have any? or know where i can buy them? a security screw has a stud sticking up in the center of the screw head
