To answer the root question: Yes, if you load a backup image of the windows installation you forgot the password to, you would still be locked out. You would have to load a completely new installation of Windows (format/re-install) for your admin password to change.

the log on screen that you see once you restart your computer, ( if it is a dell that is ) goes to user accounts. well, i am the administrator, and I have forgotten my log on password. I was told that i could remove windows an then reinstall the windows, that I could reset my pass word like that. But I have a question, if I put all info on the back up flash drive, would it also not be the password too ? being loaded back up on it? If so, that I would had done all that for nothing, because it would still be the forgotten password. Can anyone help???? suggestions?? something I can do to rest that password without going through so much trouble. I've had to wipe off windows once before an I am telling ya.. it is not fun!!! However I did not have a flash drive then. I am hoping that this way is much easier. .
