If its a Dell inspiron (sp) they have a lot of wifi issues. I had a couple that the wifi was working one second and the next it was totally dead, There are a lot of known issues with the mother boards on some models. Hit google with your model number and wifi see what pops up.

Is the router b, g, n, or a combination thereof and same of the computer? One must match the other in order to work. If the computer is b/g and the router n, you will not get a hook up.

I brought a Dell laptop off of Gowilkes and cannot seem to get it to reconize my Netgear Router. Here's the problem, Dell Customer Support will not help me because I can't name the original owners name. Netgear tired to help me for over a hour but says it is a Dell configuration problem. Can anybody help??
