If you can afford a second home I would think you could afford whatever internet service at the second home you wanted.

I cancelled my Time Warner cable TV and Roadrunner back in Oct. I now use a program called "tether" to get internet through my blackberry smart phone. F R E E (I paid $30 for the program license). I can plug in my laptop anywhere there's cell phone signal.
I have sprint phone service, with unlimited data. Some phone companies charge a premium, for excessive data usage, if you use tether. Best check first.
It's reliable, but slower than cable modem; all in all I'm satisfied.

You can get a little pocket size modem at WalMart from Virgin Mobile and buy a $50 card per month for unlimited internet. You can take it anywhere with you.

I am looking for least expensive way to get internet at a second home. Have wireless in my 1st home; but, often take laptop with me to second home. I don't really want to put in a ground line at second home. Is there a way to get internet without ground line?
