I don't think OpenOffice has had an active development team in place for more than a year. The source code forked due to a license agreement (I think), and the main developers recompiled and started posting LibreOffice. Same thing, different name, current support.

The most commonly used would be microsoft excel from microsoft office (not available as a free download) one that is free is "Open Office" just google open office and watch out for the tag along programs that will want to install.

I'm sorry for being so dumb but at my age it comes with the territory. Can someone here help me with finding just a blank spreadsheet program. I have been to microsoft.com but everything I see is a template for budgets or weight loss etc. I just want a blank spreadsheet that I can plug in my own data and formulas. My old computer had it built in and all I had to do was enter data, hit the automatic sum icon and be done. My new one does not have that and I need it. Thank you guys for helping.
