I like the rating concept pretty well. May help to weed out the shade tree wanna bees. Thou I can say I would be hesitant to provide copy's to a third party who is not directly my employer. Come to think of it, I would bother tying to help if there was a bid stile format. I am with you on the rating system.

Jason should start a job bidding service online. People post their issues, and techs get to bid anonymously on fixing it. Make sure that it is followed up with feedback and ratings so the crappy ones get punted. All the techs would be known as tech aaaa, bbbb, cccc, etc, but unique to each person requesting service so that they can't be tied to anything except their feedback and online record here prior to being hired. In other words, if I bid and get a quote from aaaa, the next person that needs assistance would see that person as jjjj, but the the same feedback attached.

It'd have to be free for all involved, except maybe a $5 service fee to get added as a tech to cover his time verifying your identity, etc... You can write your own profiles for people to browse, but if you make any factual claims such as A+, network+, MCSS etc, you have to make available to Jason a copy or proof of the facts before he allows the profile.

Meh, I'm bored. And FWIW, I wouldn't be bidding. I only do it as a hobby now. But I'd be willing to write some code to make this happen!
