Linksys blows. They are Cisco's reject. (ex. Compaq = HP's reject) Get a netgear N600 for your home. You won't be disapointed. You must have the right technology in your wireless adapter to take advantage of the extended range. I can set it up for you for $20.00 within 1 hour. Instead of dealing with the hassle of flashing the firmware, you could just buy a Buffalo.

They ship with DD-WRT firmware.
Wilkesone, how much are you trying to boost your signal? There are a variety of options. TP-Link makes some cheap, descent solutions. They have one high gain antenna that can work up to 3 miles (needs one at each end), and I believe it runs about $50.

Yes, but it is usually cheaper to buy a better router and put a better antennae on it, then trying to boost your home router...
If you have a linksys, you can try ddwrt - it can boost the output somewhat..
