"It's interesting how the rhetoric surrounding interracial marriage has shifted to the new term "marriage equality".

Quite deliberate. An intrinsic part of the bait-and-switch.

Can anyone honestly tell me what, exactly "marriage equality" excludes? With clear citations?

Only a matter of time before the mixed races file a lawsuit demanding recognition; and/or jungle loving adults do the same. The legal arguments surrounding the recent court decisions, almost guarantee that these and other unimaginable combinations and fetishes will be granted a seat at the marriage table.

So, after the next wave of supplicants, and the next...what will marriage mean?

Not much.

Which is exactly the intended consequence."

Quite deliberate. An intrinsic part of the bait-and-switch.

Can anyone honestly tell me what, exactly "marriage equality" excludes? With clear citations?

Only a matter of time before bi-sexual triads file a lawsuit demanding recognition; and/or incestuous adults do the same. The legal arguments surrounding the recent court decisions, almost guarantee that these and other unimaginable combinations and fetishes will be granted a seat at the marriage table.

So, after the next wave of supplicants, and the next...what will marriage mean?

Not much.

You do know we have a local judge(male) who is married to a man? From my understanding they have been married for a number of years. So fare Wilkes hasn't died.

Rollon2, you might be interest in knowing that no one is requiring you to have sex with other men.

No one seems to care that h*mosexual behavior spreads disease at almost 50 times the rate of heterosexuals-- I guess, Oh that's right it's accepted in Pop Culture now, so it's ok. And how do I know that you ask?

CDC's 2011 National STD Prevention Conference, found that the rate of new HIV diagnoses among men who have sex with men, (MSM) is more than 44 times that of other men, and more than 40 times that of women.
The range was 989 cases of new HIV diagnoses per 100,000 MSM vs. 12 per 100,000 other men, and 13 per 100,000 women.

Ok you can read at your leisure but the ruling was based on the 14th Amendment having to do with Due Process and Equal Protection.

I have not read the opinion so am unable to know where the Virginia law ran afoul of the constitution. You talk about liberal judges and how the left is using leftist judges to change laws, Last time I checked the conservatives have the same opportunity to "pack" the courts and have the rules swing back their way.

I voted FOR the marriage amendment and find it very concerning that a panel of 7-9 people can overturn an election that represented the majority. What might they decide to change next?
That being said, Roy Cooper did what no one else in Raleigh seems to be willing to do...save money and recognize when a battle can not be won. Whether we like it or not, the amendment will be overturned and there are no arguments left.
Every one is thumping the Bible about this issue. What does the Bible instruct us to do involving the elderly, weak and poor? Our legislators should maybe ask WWJD about that portion of our population.

Radical leftists always have to use left wing federal judges to overrule the will of the people. This is serous stuff, because it goes to the heart of American liberty and popular sovereignty. Most people don't realize or grasp that this was not an ordinary law that was overturned by judicial fiat. This is Virginia's Constitution. The people of Virginia voted to amend their Constitution to prohibit the time-honored definition of marriage from being changed. According to the federal Constitution the states retain sovereignty over all matters not delegated to the feds, including all matters of morality. If the federal courts can change the Constitutions of the states, we are in real trouble and have crossed into federal tyranny.

Anyone that knows anything at all about laws and the DOMA ruling, understands the Supreme Court DID NOT empower Federal Judges to overturn State laws--in fact it was the opposite, it empowered the states to decide the marriage rules internally. These rulings are nothing nor than a power play to pay back Obama's base ( the nutty left, and perverts).

Saw this posted on another forum. Pretty much dead on.

If Cooper refuses to do his AG job, what makes you think he would do the Governor's job?

Seems the will of the voters is being overturned by liberal judges.

CanesFan, the only way you can fire Roy Cooper is to impeach him. All 12 members of the North Carolina council of state are elected by the voters, not appointed by the Governor. You will probably get rid of Cooper as Attorney General when he is elected Governor next election.

Cooper refuses to do his job. Fire his butt! It doesn't matter if he agrees with the law he still has to defend the state.

Federal law and rulings trump state law and rulings. Why try to peez upstream? Would be a waste of tax payers money. I don't agree with everything that happens, but peezing in the wind is what defending the position would be

A question for the gay marriage advocates: Do you actually believe that legalizing gay marriage will quell the demands made by the radicals...or, (more likely) stoke the fires for even more demands?

Did giving women the right to vote stoke the fire for more demands? Did allowing bi-racial marriage stoke the demand for more change?

Yes, but not in detrimental ways.
