The actions of the killer cop was clearly not in defense of human life.
The courts disagree with you...
Babbitt was part of a mob that had breached the Capitol and was trying to break through the barricaded door to the Speaker's Lobby. Babbitt herself was attempting to climb through a barricaded door that had been broken by members of her mob. Although Byrd said in his NBC News interview that he did not know "what the intentions were," it seems highly likely that a reasonable officer in Byrd's position, knowing the general situation as he described it and observing her actions, could have concluded that Babbitt had the intention to kill or seriously injure lawmakers or others.
Meaning... just moments earlier, the insurrectionists had been chanting "Hang Mike Pence!" And were apparently building a gallows...
An action that Trump appeared to condone...
The police had barricaded the Speaker's Lobby with furniture before the rioter shattered the glass door and tried to push through. I can't imagine any scenario where a cop would not have been justified in thinking that the people chanting about assassinating the Vice President was not going to assassinate the Vice President.
But regardless.
What we have here is the President saying that the courts are wrong, arbitrarily declaring that the federal government is responsible, and that $5 million is a fair payout.
This means that we now have a precedent of the President funneling tax money to whomever he wants, under the guise of "I just want to." All of his former employees that were convicted of crimes? Well... now he can just give them a ton of money and cite precedent.

If the situation were reversed you'd call her and the others involved scum, thugs, animals etc and say "if she had complied with police she would be alive"

The actions of the killer cop was clearly not in defense of human life. Like I said, if the races were reversed h*** would have been to pay!

Should have been TRIPLE of what life long criminal drug addict George Floyd's family got.
I don't entirely disagree with this. George Floyd's murder was tragic and I'm glad that the murderers were convicted, but I don't know why the city chose to pay the family off. I know that the family sued and the city settled for $27 million, but I think it should have gone through federal courts and let a judge decide whether the city had done something wrong.
Considering that there had been multiple complaints about Chauvin that were ignored by the city, though... it's likely that they would have been found to be negligent. And would have had to pay more than $27 million.
But that was a city, so the payoff didn't impact us at all... and now we're talking about the federal government using our tax money.
There were no apparent prior complaints about the cop that shot Babbitt, and the US Capitol Police investigation found that his "conduct was lawful an within the Department policy, which says an officer may use deadly force only when the officer reasonably believes that action is in the defense of human life, including the officer's own life, or in the defense of any person in immediate danger of serious physical injury." https://www.npr.org/2021/08...bbitt-riot
With no evidence of wrongdoing, and no evidence that the federal government had done anything wrong by employing him, there's no logic in giving a payoff. But now he has set a precedent... we just give tax money to people we like.

Ashli Babbitt is standing behind a guy smashing a window. You can clearly see/hear her yell "break it, smash it!" Then once the pane is knocked out she climbs through it while everyone around her yells Gun gun gun! She is hit and falls from the window. Does this look like a scene of tourists at the Capitol building? Like I said in an earlier post, if you think the force was unnecessary I could certainly see an argument for that, but to say she was just a tourist is completely insane, and I think it's also insane how generous you all are in your interpretation of these events while calling others killed by police thugs when they did literally nothing wrong. Seems about white.
Also none of you seem to want to answer what you think would happen if a group of those people found AOC or Pelosi unguarded in the capitol.

Thanks for showing that again for us. Did you really see Ashli Babbit breaking windows? Please tell us at what point in the video you saw that. I think about all I saw was her falling to the floor dead. But please look for yourself. By the way, did you see all those armed law enforcement coming from "BEHIND" her at the end. Suppose this careless cop could have shot one of them?
Rogue cop killed an unarmed woman, and Democrats go out of their way to hide him

So tell me all you Matlocks under what conditions can a law enforcement officer discharge his weapon? Can an officer fired his weapon into a door? There was no evidence that there was a weapon. The officer didn't know who was behind the door. What if it was another officer, a child, a government employee? This was gross negligence and could have been more than five million. Just as the truth has come out on Joe Biden, every day the picture get clearer. The rank and file Capital officers feel like they were set up and not by Trump. Why did the cameras at the DNC get moved? Why was Kamala Harris doing at the DNC on January 6 when she was supposed to be at the Capital? Why was the alleged pipe bomber speaking with the police? Why after offering 500,000 dollars for information on the pipe bomber, two days later he was no longer a person of interest? As Nancy like to say, it is about controlling the narrative. Well the narrative is fixing to change.

Good response mouse, why don't you go back to Truman, what have you got on him? Which videos are you referring to, the ones where Faux News carefully left out what you MAGATS wouldn't like to see? Just to refresh your memory the "president" at the time of the 1/6 riots was Trump.

Is smashing through a window and entering a barricaded room what tourists do? Because that's what she did. If you think the force was excessive I believe an argument could be made for that but to say she was a tourist is completely asinine. Y'all act as if there weren't hundreds of cameras documenting everything that happened that day. Also, sincerely, what do you think would have happened if a group of those people had found Nancy Pelosi or AOC unguarded in one of those hallways? Seriously I'd love to hear your answer.

Babbit was a tourist.
You need to watch all the films not just the ones shown by the liberal media.
