Refugee Act of 1980 under the great leadership of one JIMMY CARTER. Another one of his many great successes

In the aftermath of the Vietnam War, the need for a change in American policy concerning refugees became apparent as hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese and Cambodians fled political chaos and physical danger in their homelands. Between 1975 and 1979, some 300,000 of these refugees were able to come to the United States through Presidential action, as the law at the time restricted refugee admissions. Seeing this, many members of Congress wanted to establish a more regular system of immigration and resettlement that would establish a clear and flexible policy.

Passed unanimously by the Senate in late 1979 and signed into law by President Jimmy Carter in early 1980, the Refugee Act of 1980 amended the earlier Immigration and Nationality Act and the Migration and Refugee Assistance Act. It raised the annual ceiling for refugees from 17,400 to 50,000, created a process for reviewing and adjusting the refugee ceiling to meet emergencies, and required annual consultation between Congress and the President.

They desperately take a comment out of context... and they know it.

Joe was obviously talking about how Trump had illegally violated the Refugee Act, and that they would go back to honoring it. But facts don't support their ignorant racism, so... they ignore them.

Yet you still voted for Trump on the pretense of terror about imaginary "open borders"

So the 10 million or so illegal varmints that came in with Joe and Kamala's blessing were imaginary... I feel so much better now

Folks... you can't make stupidity like this up! Hollywood couldn't come up with a line like this!

Yes, that is what it is. You are duped because youre easy to manipulate.

2016 - "BUILD THAT WALL" because Obama "opened the border."

2025 - well Obama deported all these folks, so what have you?

Youre a fool who falls for the same 5hit over and over. Hillbilly nailed it, but youre too entrenched in your "own the libs" to realize it.

I don't believe Obama sent them to El Salvador. Obama didn't break the LAW OR CONSTITUTION.

Wow! You're so close to stumbling on the truth and you still can't quite see it. Right wing politicians mobilize their bass of white disaffected working class voters with racial resentment by scapegoating and fear monger about illegal immigrant, so you vote for them and then they erode protections and social safety nets, privatize services and enrich their wealthy donors and lobbyists, all while talking tough and being visibly cruel to immigrants without actually doing all that much to stop them from entering the country because our entire economy is propped up by immigrant labor.

We've told you all along, Abe... Obama and Biden were much tougher on undocumented immigrants that Trump was. Yet you still voted for Trump on the pretense of terror about imaginary "open borders"

So I ask you-where was all the outrage then?

First, your numbers are false. In reality...

... in 1995, 1,400 immigrants were subject to nonjudicial removals, representing 3 percent of total deportations. By FY 2012 that number had sharply increased to 313,000 nonjudicial removals - an all-time high.

But as you can see, there was outrage. You just weren't listening.

Further, Obama wasn't arresting US citizens and sending them to a foreign concentration camp for life without a trial. The people being fast tracked in that era were arrested while crossing the border.

Washington state has passed a bill for expedited pardons for illegal criminal aliens in it's prisons. Just when you think the dims can't get any crazier... they do.

Did you know?
Under Obama, over 3 million people were deported-but 75-83% never saw a judge or had a chance to plead their case.

Most were removed through expedited processes at the border-no court hearing, no trial.

And this isn't unique to Obama.
Under Clinton and Bush, millions were also deported without judicial oversight.

Due process?

So I ask you-where was all the outrage then?
Where were the protests against Obama, Clinton, or Bush? This has been standard practice under many presidents before Trump.

No president in U.S. history has ever been required to get permission from the courts-or from anyone else-to defend the sovereignty of their own borders.
