Taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for Planned Parenthood to kill babies.

A little over 35 years ago I considered an abortion in Winston Salem, even called and made an appointment but then a thought came to me that my mom would never do that so I could not and so did not keep the appointment! My husband, who rarely worked, told me "you may as well get rid of it, I'll never support it" (big time hurt) but as it turned out I raised our daughter without him. She is now 35, married to a nice man, with two sons. My daughter is smart, beautiful and sweet.

Planned Parenthood is a front for those who just want to steal your children and sell their body parts and make big bucks from it. So glad they didn't get mine! Time to get fed up with their pretense to be something they are not. They don't really solve problems, they create them and profit from them, just like another organization I know of that supposedly 'helps' people but mostly they help themselves to you. Believe you call them opportunists.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.
Protesters are planning to gather in Winston-Salem on Saturday to call for government leaders to defund Planned Parenthood.

Organizers say they'll meet at the Planned Parenthood facility at 3000 Maplewood Ave. at 9 a.m.

The event is one of more than 200 gatherings being coordinated nationwide by the #ProtestPP Coalition, calling for Planned Parenthood to be stripped of all federal funding, and for all such funding to be redirected to federally-qualified health centers that do not perform abortions.

Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion chain, receives over $420 million from the federal government every year, organizers said.

Congressional leaders are working to cut funding for the controversial organization as part of the budget reconciliation process, while preserving the assistance this funding is meant to provide for to poor women.

"Planned Parenthood claims that American women rely on them for healthcare, but in fact 4 out of 5 women will never set foot in a Planned Parenthood facility," said Samantha Hogan, protest leader. "Planned Parenthood provides less than 1 percent of annual pap tests and zero mammograms, but performs 34 percent of annual abortions in the U.S. They've been caught shielding child predators, defrauding Medicaid, and harvesting fetal tissue for profit. This controversial organization does not deserve our tax dollars."
