Hey, Fins, I'm 26 and it's appointment television for my 62 year old Dad, too.
I like Stefan, I just prefer Damon. Then again, I tend to like the unhinged bad boy (see: Echolls, Logan and Spike for details).
I tried to read the books after season one, in hopes of satisfying the "OMG! It was Katherine and John has no fingers and what am I going to do all summer?" neurotic response to the finale. But, I just couldn't get into them. I much prefer the characterization on the television show and just can't imagine Elena as a blonde mean girl.

Blueberry J I like them both. Damon all the way around  But Stephan b/c he only has eyes for Elana whilst Damon has all the girls. I like a one woman man.
