The culprit was the melted butter. NEVER melt butter or shortening when using in a recipe!!!

I saw that on Facebook and I tried it and it turned out awful. The cake was dry and crumbly. Too bad I wasted all those ingredients on something that went in the trash.

I saw this suggestion floating around Pinterest. It said to take a regular box cake, add one more egg than suggested, use melted butter instead of oil and double the amount, then use milk instead of water.

This does not work, AT ALL! I've tried it twice (once with Pillsbury, once with Duncan Hines), and both times the cake fell and was terrible.

Save your money, do NOT follow that suggestion!
