Marshmallow fondant is so much better. And it is quite easy to work with. You must remember one very important step. It is best to make it the day before you will need it. Wrap it well w/ plastic wrap and let it sit on your counter overnight. This will give it the firmness you will need.

I am just using the fondant to decorate with. I have to make monkey faces for someone. I am more concerned about taste.

Unless you have advanced skills I would recommend only using poured fondant. Rolled fondant takes a while to master.
Never had marshmallow fondant so I can't answer as to that part of the question.
