Nothing will grow under black walnut trees. I always thought the wood was poisonous. How much did you use?

Black Walnut!! Trim off the bark and the Yellow or Brown second layer. What you have left is the White wood with a Black core. Very heavy, dense smoke, with a AWESOME flavor!
