Biggest thing about making cookies that you want to be soft is to take them out of the oven just as the edges are browning. The heat of the pan and cooling will continue cooking them. If you let them brown all over then they will be hard when completely cooled. Some like to put them on cooling racks. I prefer to put them on clean terry cloth dish towels to cool. I always have good results this way.

GOOD RECIPE FOR SUGAR COOKIES-3CUPS PLAIN FLOUR,1TSP.BAKING POWDER,1AND 1 FOURTHCUP SUGAR,1 CUP CRISCO,3 EGGS,1TSP.VANILLA FLAV.MIX WELL ROLL OUT ONTO FLOURED BOARD AND CUT OUT. PLACE ONTO A GREASED COOKIE SHEET.BAKE 375 FOR 8 MINUTES OR UNTIL BROWN.MAKES 6 DOZEN COOKIES.ENJOY!
