It was a great game. Both teams played really well. Alleghany had lead until the 7th and Elkin came back to tie. Hated to see our coach being thrown out of game. The assistants did a good job without him.

Sounds like an exciting, intense game in Elkin last night as the Trojans beat the Undefeated Elks in 10 innings 3-2. Would have loved to see it!

What I want to know is West drops two in a row and one being the conference opener and the paper is mum. All these West stories and now they are mum. Make me think is anyone at the JP being a little partial? Sure seems like it. Go North!

The Mountain-Valley Conference as a whole is really weak in all boys sports!!! It is most definitely the weakest football and basketball conference in the state.

West was not only no hit but they were dominated by Altemueller.

Not one ball was hit out of the inflield. I think it was 14 strikeouts, and the only base runner was on a BB on a full count.

If West is top 2, its a very weak conference this season.

I was very impressed with Elkin and they will be hard to beat, they also probably have the best game manager in the conference.

It could be a battle for 2nd in the MVAC.
