Well this was enjoyable to read this evening.

AsheFootball....I think the point Colonel is trying to make is the MVAC is weak, regardless of who wins conference. Ashe gets 82 pts scored on them by AC and then AC gets hammered by South Iredell. Hibriten is killing people too which held the Ashe attack to 14. West Caldwell beats an average North Wilkes team by 40 and then Hibriten beats West Caldwell by 50. The MVAC is competitive amongst our teams but you don't have to travel too far to see how outmatched we are to other area teams. Watuaga or AC will not win their conference so it is hard to gauge yourself even playing 3a and 4a teams. You may beat WC by 40 tonight but again, that just gets you a 1st round state playoff game before you start basketball season. Same for Central if they luck up and beat Ashe.

Mustard.....If ANY other team in the MVAC had played the non-conference schedule that Ashe has they would have lost EVERY game by that much! Ashe scored 48 on Watauga and 42 on Alexander Central. The only team who has stopped the offenese at all this year was Hibriten and we only scored 14. Most teams in the MVAC would have suffered through three shut outs!! You better get ready because the score board is gonna lighting up at a field near you very soon and you'll be on the short end of things!

The conference is very weak. Ashe may very well beat Central. That doesnt make them a good team. East is the only good team in the conference relative to their classification. Just the facts.

If Ashe
were to win the conference hands down,it would go,to,show the overall weakness of the,conference,now,wouldn't it? Giving up 78 points in,a,game,is unheard,of,by a quality team. if they do win it..one,and,done in the,playoffs.

4 games in and still more questions than answers. What is up with Starmount? Is East as good as originally thought? Will the Ashe air raid be effective come conference play? Wilkes Central has athletes but are they tough enough? Alleghany is 4-0 how good are they? The usual questions that follow West this time of year? The only answer that I have came to conclusively is that Elkin is not very good
