The Yellow Jackets play at ASU, we have teams that start in 1st grade all the way threw the 8th grade.

Mark Whittington is over the Yellow Jacket league that's who you ould need to speak with.

Why are you having to have fundraisers and help from the middle schools?

i hope they improve equipment because the shoulder pads my kid played with looked the ones i wore as a kid. i will purchase his own if that is the best they can do.

There will be 7 teams in Middle School Sertoma. All 4 Wilkes teams, Ashe going to go with 2 teams next year, and then Elkin. Also, the Middle Schools are working at each school to upgrade equipment and at Central Middle they are fundraising and getting support from the High School to have appropriate and safe equipment, along with about 12-15 brand new helmets and shoulder pads to start with. The "powers at be" can work on the administrative issues. I am going to focus on teaching kids the proper fundamentals of football while providing safe equipment. I hope all schools can work together to help the kids.

Well if what I hear is correct I hope Yadkin & Allegany make things work for their kids. I'm afraid that my child will be playing with outdated equipment again this coming year. But I guess snow balls do have a chance in he!! so maybe all the crap sertoma feed my super will come true this year. If I'm handed crap again this year I'll take my child to Yadkin County to play football. If anybody from Yadkin reads this will you please not make a rule that kids from other schools can't come and play at the closest school or a team that needs players. Maybe the Yellow Jackets would like to form other teams. Who is over the Yellow Jackets? I know it said that the schedule would be out in February but it should be out by next week. If you only have 5 teams playing then 4 teams will be playing and the other will be off. Should not take long to make that schedule out. Since Ashe only has a middle School team then that only leaves 5 teams. East Wilkes is the only team with Might Mites so they will not have anybody to play with. Good job Eddie. Looks like the sertoma boys will be going to Wilkes County next year to take that money at the gate and then they won't even have a clue how much was even taken from them at each game. Please will someone post the Yellow Jackets contact so we can have a choice.

At the meeting at big toms when collins was asked about the rulemaking by the league reps, his reply was 'after it was approved by the sertoma club'. Good Luck with getting a change. It will be the SOS it always has been. To bad we've been bullied by the club again. When will we ever get enough people to stand up and make a change for the better. The tax payers own the fields and equipment, pay the salaries of the school personel, vote for the commisioners, and its our kids program and their well being. Why should someone from another county have the power to tell us what we can and can't do. Its like you said junkie same old b/s, worn out equip and no say in the league!!!

School reps setting the rules?....Bwaaaahhahahahahahhah. That's funny. Maybe as long as Collins approves them. Schedule made in February? Not happening. Nice try though. Don't get fooled into thinking there will be any changes with Sertoma. Same man getting rich, while the kids play with inferior equipment. Best of luck to ya'll though.

Are there other options besides Sertoma? What about the league that plays at ASU? Do they have teams for all ages?

wilkes county (as far as middle school goes) is in Sertoma has been from the start will be in the future. This thing does not hardly cost a dime.

I was told by one of the main guys over the new league that it was cancelled since our superintendent is making us stay in Sertoma.

eagle11 I can prove anything you need proved. The only thing I need to know from you is when I prove it to you what will you do in return? Will you stand up for what is right or will you do like the others that already know the truth? The school super has already been shown this proof but his hands are tied so he says. The old super tied his hands for 1 year before he left office or so we have been told. So what could you do if you had this information? If some of us back woods adults don't get our heads out of a particular dark hole our youth football will be like the jobs in this county not for $$$$. If we the people don't voice our concerns to our elected school board then we are just as guilty for letting it happen than the people that are taking our money and doing who knows what with it. But there again we are WIlkes County so things like this are over looked as in the past.

Proof of what ? I have heard first hand from East middle coach that Sertoma will not accept a check for payment . They want cash is what was told. As for holding a position at East no I don't but that is irrelevant.
