I will say this there is alot of miss information out there about Mr. Collins and The Sertoma football league people should find out the truth for them selfs versus getting it from people with personal agendas. The new league will do nothing more then feed the rich and rob the poor. Watch and see!

sloan you're an idiot. Why would they not want wilkes football? We're the only idiots left - Laws legacy or the new clone of him? Sit back and let it happen as usual in wilkes.

wilkes09 don't be so sure !!! Collins IS NOT Sertoma, Sertoma as a whole might not want any part of Wilkes football, but I guess you could still get him to fund Wilkes with the money that was saved up over the years!!!

If this Mr. Collins "IS" keeping the gate money like all of these alligations say, the problem could be solved by the following. The schools need to just take the gate money after each game, deposit into that schools checking account. Then write Mr. Collins a CHECK from the school for each games gate. Then he would have to deposit it into "an" account (either his personal or the leagues account). Either way then the money would be traceable. Each school could then produce the documentation to show the total amount of each gate, minus the money for officials, minus the schools portion of the gate and that would produce a total per game going to the Sertoma league....or Mr. Collins (depending on which side of the fence your on)

If the superintendants refuse to pull out of the Sertoma league they should at least make it more difficult for "shifty" business like this to continue. We need a paper trail!!!

WE CANNOT CONTINUE TO GIVE THIS MAN CASH IN BROWN PAPER BAGS!!!!

The reason anyone could justify their kids playing in the league is that our school superintendent will not allow teams on school property unless they are part of the Sertoma Football League. Don't blame parents for wanting their kids to play for their school, blame the administrators and the real villain in this, Mr. Collins. I for one would not advocate sending this man another penny. I would say let the teams take care of themselves so that we would know our kids are protected. Everyone keep your gate money and buy your own insurance. Then if he wants to set the schedule and arrange the officials as a volunteer, by all means he can do that, but not touch a dime of the money.

Everyone should watch this. Then tell me why anyone can justify letting their kids play in that league.

Heard middle football coach is out at North. Couldn't happen to a bigger joke for a coach. Good luck North.

Yellow Jackets! The Whittingtons are very good people and have run a great league for years. Take your kids to the yellow jackets.

I had heard Alleghany was going to stay in Sertoma, but wanted to make sure before I included them in Sertoma. The Ashe coach himself said they would go to 2 teams, because of so many coming out for football and playing time. I only get my information from the "horses mouth." We are supposed to start working on the schedules for this football season, within the next couple of weeks, so I will try to keep everyone updated when I hear more.

Alleghany 7-8 will still be in Sertoma as well. Their superintendant has said their middle school would not change the league they are playing in.

No, I am not Eddie and I never said the league was great. I know how the league is run and all I am doing is to assure proper and safe equipment for the kids. I can't help the league we play in. The Super has to make that call. Our voices and plea were heard, but no resolution. I am simply stating that we are taking care of the kids. Not sure what was so "dumb" about an earlier comment or what was the suggestion, because I didn't see where I made one. However, we also fundraise to provide the kids with other "perks" within the program, like field equipment, team shorts/shirts, and team trips to ASU and other Universitys throughout the year.

I may be speaking out of ignorance, but I will say this one thing. Eddie S. absolutely cares about the kids he coaches! I do not know about the business side of Sertoma, but I can say without any iota of doubt that Eddie truly cares about these kids and I honestly believe that he would unequivocally do what is in the kids best interest.

Like I said, I don't know about the business side but I know Eddie sincerely cares about these kids!

Good point middle school! Shouldn't have to fundraise to buy equip for sertoma to collect gate!! Fundraise to buy equip, run sertoma off and keep the gate to pay for equip and the kids program. Would you own a business and let somebody else keep the profit? More is happening than we know-why would you want to keep a program that you can't keep up?

unc2344 you have got to be Eddie S. no other person would make such a dumb *** suggestion about Wilkes Central. If the league is so great why in the world would they need to raise money for new equipment. Like always in the past local leagues will be left with funding there own equipment while Eddie and his friends keep the money.
