I have one you can have for $5. used, but worked when I pulled it from my last desktop. IDE connections.

It's a CDRW/DVD drive, doesnt burn DVD's, only plays them. It's face is black. Willing to meet you around 2nd street/mcdonalds area. PM me if interested.

Any CD DVD will work as long as it is the same connector on it.

Have a tower that I formatted the hard drive and am trying to install W 7 on it. Find out the hard way that the CD drive is bad. If I install another CD drive, will the computer recognize it without an OS on the machine?


Computer had enough memory (8 mb) to run W 7 so that is not a problem.
