what ever you do dont buy a HP. I am a HP warranty repair contractor and they keep me busy as they have a few class action lawsuits for faulty hardware. I have from 3 to 4 a week to replace motherboards on and various other problems for other service calls. I would go custom built if i were you but then you wont get as good a warranty. the warranty will be with the part manufacture. you can also feel good about supporting your local computer repair man and his family in these hard times

Pumkin if you just need it to surf and play some games then Hp,Compaq,Emachine ,etc will do fine. However, if you want it to run fast jump higher like us Geeks do then I suggest you build one from scratch also it would be more upgradable in the future. Hope this helps and happy hunting.

That depends on what you want on it. you can get a cheap on from Dell for $249 or any business can build one for you. You can get parts for a good price at www.tigerdirect.com or www.newegg.com and get someone (like me) to put it together for you. Then you will know what is in it.

I am thinking of purchaseing a new desktop computer since my laptop died. I have had Vista on the laptop but think I want to get the Windows 7. Can anyone tell me the best place to purchase with a good price?

Or someone who can build one that is truthful and honest about what they put into it.

Thanks
