If you do a system restore do one close to the date the problem happened, if that dosnt fix it try it again but go a day farther back. try that till your dvd is recognized. there are also other areas we can check. http://www.pro-tech.5u.com 336 262 2945 $25 house calls

If this has just started happening, the easiest way to fix the problem may be to just do a system-restore to a time before you had the problem.
I'd bet you a plug-nickel that will fix the problem.

my laptop is a gateway about 2 years old, has been working fine, one day it just did not recognize my cd/dvd drive although all the checks I've done say it is there and is the right one. It gives a code of 32 and says something about "optiarc" anyone know what the problem could be?
