try moving or tabbing to a different cell in the ss to see if it will unlock it

Open up a blank excel document, and try to copy and paste the one you have been working on into the blank one, and then save it. I have had this happen to me before, sometimes the properties get messed up, and it turns into a "read only" file and you can't make any changes. Try to copy and paste and see if it works.

Save as is not even an option. I don't know what the heck to do.

if you are using it on another machine then theres your prob.
just "save as" a different document or excel and make changes to the new sheet

Keep it simple is what I was taught. Shut the system down and let it sit for a minute or two - two preferably. Power it back up and see what you get then. A good starting point...

Have you made a copy of the file and tried to open it on another machine? It may be a corrupt file. Or you have a formula stuck in a loop

I have an excel document that I have been working on for the past few weeks. I opened it up to make some changes and I cannot do anything. It is not in read only and none of the options are available for me. If I right click, the only options are sort and filter. I use excel a lot and have never ran into this. Any advice would be great.
