Did you install the driver for the net card?

start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager>network adaptors should show your network card name and have no yellow exclamation marks or red x

Check that and if OK let us Know, if not OK install the driver also check for unknown devices

I have an older HP that has been cleaned and windows xp put on it. Also memory was added. I have Centurylink internet on my laptop and it works fine. When I hooked up the desktop there is no internet found. Anyone have a solution?
