It is more than likely a bad AC Adapter or a defective battery. I could also be the processor, motherboard or maybe even the hdd (Hard Drive). Has the cord for the AC Adapter been handled roughly, check for any tears of the wire or any bent places. Also has the computer ever been dropped in the last few weeks or so? No, never mind about the battery, that is not the problem because your plugged in and it's doing the same thing.
I hope for your sake of cost that a replacement adapter will do the trick. Your battery is probably out of charge. This is a high probability. Bring it by Double Edge Technologies and have them try a replacement adapter. If that is not the problem, visit my website at www.mypctechoncall.com and fill out the contact us page or just ring me @ 336-981-4157 and leave a voice mail. I will get back to you ASAP. I am much cheaper than local competitors and do excellent work. Customer Service is my #1 priority.

It is an HP Pavilion dv6700...
one day my dad tried to turn it on and it wouldn't turn on, the buttons all light up but then just go off, the display will not even try to turn on as well.

I have a laptop computer and a few months back my dad tried to turn it on and it will not turn on anymore, I have plugged it in to the charger andeverything and it will not power on. Once I press the power button it lights up blue like its going to turn on but goes off.
I am wondering if I sell the laptop for parts or to someone who wants to fix it, how much could I get for it. I bought it at the end of 2008, so its only a few years old.
