When it quits that's what I use but I would like to have it fixed. The scroll down function quit along time ago and never worked even when the pad does. I have a guy working on my other laptop and he has not fixed it yet that is why I'm looking for someone else that works on computers. It seems like computers have became like TV's. You don't fix them instead throw them away.

Could be a driver issue with your trackpad. You can check to see if there's anymore drivers available for your laptop that may fix your issue. As far as fixing it, have you thought about just using an external mouse that could either be wireless or plugged into the laptop?

I have a gateway laptop and the mouse does not work half the time. What could be wrong and how much would it cost for someone to fix it?
