May be some compatibility issus between chrome and shockwave.

I am certain someone on here can tall me what has happened and hopefully what to do. . 2 days ago a yellow warning banner across the top of my browser came up, and said shockwave crashed. I closed it out, as it didn't give me any options other that just close. My browser then flashed, and a BLACK box with a sick shockwave symbol (the puzzle piece) popped up in my top left corner. Im getting cut off whatever I am doing every little bit. I have already updated shockwave yesterday, but its still doing the same thing. The box still comes up as soon as I go to any web page . What is wrong? BTW I am using Chrome browser and windows Vista os. Thanks in advance!
