Catastrophic power outage plunged millions of people in Spain and Portugal into chaos

Eventually, coal, oil, and other mineral resources WILL run out.

Not sure why Trumpers don't seem to care.

Even if I worked in those fields, I'd pray for deliverance. I lived in the coalfields of sw VA, broken backs, black lung, and opiate addiction abound in most early 30 year olds. MAGA loves you!

Theyre the easiest targets to manipulate, so they do as theyre told.

The love they have for fighting the rich mans war for them is peak idiocy.

Why are you MAGAts so in love with refined oils and coal? Do you all work at gas stations or in mines?

Solar power is the power of the future, EV's are the vehicles of the future. MAGATS and extreme right wing Republicans live in the past and try to drag everyone and everything back to the past, lf all else fails they try to freeze everything in the present. Despite their obsession with the past they don't learn a domm thing from history.

You apparently do not understand the scope of the outage

Weren't you hicks the same folks hot and bothered about EVs a year ago, and now you bow at the feet of Tesla bro?

Guy acts like power outages are a new phenomenon...

What was it, like 12 hours?

I've been a solar hobbyist for years and have off grid backup power this way and I can tell you when the sun goes away you're on batteries only with nothing coming in and everything coming out. This cannot sustain a grid. I'm not getting rid of the diesel generator either because the solar won't run the house all night. If you try to you've drained too much from the batteries and you're screwed the next day.

"This is false."

"As of 3 hours ago, the Prime Minister said that they are still working to find the cause of the blackout."

The leftist government of Spain is doing what all leftists do... cover up and bury the truth. And of course old **** is taking the bait.

Have Spain and Portugal check with the Texas power company, they're real experts on how to keep the grid operating.

Another article from 3 hours ago says that Spain has ruled out that "an excess in renewable energy production" as the cause. But they are "looking into whether a cyberattack [an act of computer sabotage on critical infrastructure] was the cause."

Meaning... there's more of a chance that a right wing terrorist was the culprit than that it was "a dangerously unstable reliance on intermittent renewable energy" as the OP claims.

This is false.

As of 3 hours ago, the Prime Minister said that they are still working to find the cause of the blackout.

Only a fake news site would claim to have a conclusive answer, when no answer has been determined.

Yes indeed, have y'all noticed how much chaos ensues whenever we have a power outage?

DB, if anyone wants to read a book, they pick what they're interested in. The copy and paste show ignorance. Do you have any original thoughts, or is it all Orange Jesus?

Spain's big blackout came less than week after it went full green on electricity
Yes they want to do the same thing to us. Solar and wind are fine for backup but not for a stable grid as Spain's citizens are finding out the hard way.

On April 28, 2025, a catastrophic power outage plunged millions of people in Spain and Portugal into chaos.
The blackout, one of Europe's largest in recent memory, struck shortly after midday, instantly severing electricity supplies and disrupting transportation, healthcare, and communication across the Iberian Peninsula.

Traffic lights went dark, nearly 400 flights at Madrid's airport were delayed or canceled, and hospitals scrambled to keep emergency systems running. Spain's national railway, Renfe, halted entirely, leaving passengers stranded for hours.

This disaster wasn't caused by extreme weather or natural disasters, it was driven by a dangerously unstable reliance on intermittent renewable energy.

Ironically, Spain and Portugal have championed renewable sources more aggressively than most nations. In 2023, solar and wind produced approximately 40% of Spain's and Portugal's power generation.

Thank you President Trump for derailing the Biden green energy hoax that was leading the US down the same path.
