Consul, you seem to be praising China for doing what's best for China. How patriotic of you. I'm sure you think Trump should do the same for America though?

If the US attempts to show China some respect, then keep Trump out of the negotiations.

DumbBell doesn't give up. Every prediction he's ever made has blown up in his face, but still he perseveres. China is going to do whatever is best for China and if it's not in America's best interests, well that's too bad. One of the definitions of insanity is the compulsion to make the same mistakes over and over again.

United States still waits for China's call. Our economy looms as the phone doesn't ring.

China expressed openness to trade talks with the US on Wednesday, under certain conditions, even after the White House clarified that "China now faces up to a 245% tariff on imports to the United States." US stocks were under pressure after semiconductor companies reported some trade-related news flow. Michelle Lam, Greater China economist at Societe Generale SA, explained to Bloomberg that Beijing wants "respect, consistency and a point person" as focus grows on the trade war between the world's two largest economies. Chinese state media also reiterated that China would ignore the "numbers game" of escalating duties. Semiconductor company ASML (ASML) spooked investors on Wednesday, reporting weaker-than-expected orders and admitting it can't yet assess the impact of new US tariffs.
