Remember... if this passes then the next President would have the legal authority to, for example, repeal the 2nd Amendment and force you to turn in all of your guns and ammo. If you wanted to keep your guns then you would have to turn them in, then hire an attorney to fight it in court for you.
And if you win, you might get your guns back... if they haven't already been destroyed. You might just get a check for their value.
Another President might ban all churches that aren't Catholic.
The Constitution and entire judicial system would be about as valuable as a square of toilet paper...

Trump has filed a lawsuit to repeal the "Judicial Review" clause of the Constitution. This separation of powers acts as a check on both the legislative and executive branches, ensuring that a single dictator can't create wide sweeping changes.
This clause gives federal courts the authority to review executive orders to determine if they are constitutional, and can issue an injunction to block enforcement of the order while the case is pending. They can also void an executive order pending review by the Supreme Court.
Trump does not like this... he wants the authority to sign executive orders with unilateral authority that bypasses Congress and all other courts. Most recently are his order to overturn the 14th Amendment and his order to freeze funding to states based on whims.
He is now arguing to the Supreme Court that, not only do judges not have this right, but the people also do not have the right to sue to block illegal orders.
Instead, if you believe that a law or order violates your rights then you can hire an attorney to fight it for you in court. If the attorney wins then the law will not apply to YOU, but would still apply to everyone else.
The Supreme Court is divided on whether Trump's authoritarian argument has weight. A decision is expected in late June or early July.
