FatSal, everyone not as stupid as you and falls for the old man in the sky. You church people sure will beg for money and then go drink beer at a race.
Instead of wasting all that money on a race and beer, why don't they help the homeless here?
Because all those fake christian leaders wouldn't be able to make a scene on Television.

Far from being taken aback that a "sport" which originated in the Bible Belt includes an invocation, I think we should be concerned that a mother would have a child at an event that, as the original poster described it, is merely a drunken brawl.

The Bible is quite clear that the consumption of alcoholic beverages is not a sin. In the second chapter of the Gospel of John we read that Jesus, Himself, turned water into wine during a certain wedding and that wine was consumed. Are we to believe that Jesus aided those who drank the wine to sin? And in the second letter to Timothy, the fifth chapter, we read of Paul's advice to Timothy to drink some wine because of its medicinal qualities.

Since consuming alcohol is not a sin would the mother have a better answer should that same child have seen an overweight person drinking a Mountain Dew?

Would the world have been better served if no one had prayed at the recent event? Should people of faith only pray in their places of worship? In the 15th chapter of the Gospel of Saint Luke we read about Jesus telling a story about a shepherd with 100 sheep. One sheep was lost and the shepherd left the 99 sheep to go find the one who had went astray leaving the 99 sheep that were safe and where they were supposed to be.

Perhaps the person giving the invocation felt that he (or she) had been given an opportunity to look for people who were astray in their lives.

These leftists pop up from time to time to accuse the brethren.

Their father does the same thing.

After supper, I'm gonna drink a couple of Miller Lites and maybe a shot or two of bourbon to honor this thread

I'm as far from a MAGAt as it gets, but rolling up to Bristol and Martinsville with a cooler full of beer is as 'Murica as it gets, and a weekend of camping at BMS is next level debauchery. No one's gonna kill you if you don't pray, brah. It's also tradition, guy. You know, they may very well be driving into their grave.

I dont recall Jesus saying, "to **** with these folks, they arent worth saving." Maybe you can help point me to where that is in The Bible.

FatSal, they pray before a lot of things, but apparently praying here and joining in with drunks is a thing. Oh yeah great example for the children.
Mommy look is that man praying and drinking a beer at the same time? Yeah great example of a church person.

Give me that old time (Bible Belt) religion, give me that old time religion, give me that old time religion it's good enough for me. Hey Bubba, pass the Bud Light the one with the trannie on it, if we're lucky there might be a wreck or two.

Wow, so the Faithfest folks who dropped over half a million dollars on a cross are now supporting a sport that's basically an excuse to drink beer and fight. Looks like someone's got their priorities' mixed up.
Sure are a lot of church goers making a lot of money around here.
