Why tariffs? Impose a 75% unearned income tax on all company officers, directors and shareholders of companies that have their HQ's in the USA but manufacture offshore. If they find foreign investors to evade the tax, ban their imports. America is the largest consumer market in the world and if these measures don't bring 'em home I'm sure that loyal American companies will take up the slack. Tariffs are in effect a tax and will be felt most by the working and middle classes, but I'm sure Trump's well aware of that,

Broad tariffs are taxes paid by every consumer.
Companies do NOT eat the cost. They pass them along.
It is incredibly simple, day one economics class.
Which Trumpers all missed, apparently.
